Born a true "Tallant", Pittsburgh native and successful host and reporter,
Shane Tallant, is living up to his namesake, rubbing elbows with celebrities,
winning awards and now hosting a new highly acclaimed reality TV program on
HGTV.
"Designed to Sell," which airs weeknights at 8pm EST is a home make-over reality program and one of the Network's most watched shows. As host, Shane makes his way into homes all over the Washington, DC area and beyond, giving America a smart and funny look into the world of real estate and how to sell your home for Big Bucks!
Following high school, Shane attended Flagler College in Saint Augustine, Florida on a baseball scholarship. Soon after, he decided to hang up his cleats in exchange for a microphone. Today, Shane Tallant is no rookie when it comes to stepping in front of the camera.
Following his humble start as an entertainment reporter for CBS/UPN Pittsburgh, Shane moved to San Francisco to pursue his career dream, "anchoring a network entertainment show." He got a jump start in that arena, hosting a daily magazine show, then got his first dose of reality, TV that is, appearing on the Oxygen Network's "Making it Big," where young hopefuls competed for the chance to be mentored by a high-profile leader in their industry.
During his stint in San Francisco, he landed exclusive interviews with a laundry list of Tinseltown's A-list. His quick wit and straight from the hip style put him face to face with the likes of Robin Williams, Jennifer Aniston, Sir Ben Kingsley, Owen Wilson, John Travolta, Halle Berry, Will Smith and Diane Keaton, just to name a few.
"Having the opportunity to ask celebrities the questions that everyone wants to know was a blast. It's something I will never forget and will tell my children about. Not too many people get to have conversations with their favorite actors and actresses. I'm fortunate that I did."
Shane has spent most of his television career with his finger on the pulse of Hollywood as an entertainment reporter and host. He made a name for himself in Jacksonville, Florida as the VJ on the FOX network, in his hometown of Pittsburgh on CBS/UPN affiliates, and in San Francisco, California, as the host of The WB's popular show "The MIXX".
He's hosted numerous programs and newscasts; snatching an EMMY award along the way and was voted "Best Program Host" in 2005. Shane was also selected by the Oxygen Network as one of the Top 3 "Up and Coming Entertainment Reporters" in the US and Canada.
Above all else, one thing is certain, Shane Tallant is successfully taking the television industry by storm.
